Use this article to sign in to Ingrid for the first time, see what each Ingrid product does, and find where to go next, whether you are implementing Ingrid for the first time or looking for something specific years later.

This article is for retailers getting started with Ingrid: operations, e-commerce, warehouse and development teams. Ingrid is one platform with several products. You implement only the Ingrid products you bought, and each one connects to your systems in one place.

Start here: sign in to the Ingrid Merchant Platform

To start using Ingrid, sign in to the Ingrid Merchant Platform. The Ingrid Merchant Platform is where you configure everything: delivery options, carriers, prices, rules and settings. It is the interface your team uses day to day, and almost every article in this help center assumes you can sign in, so this is the first thing to sort out.

Sign in to the Ingrid Merchant Platform with your existing Ingrid account:

If you do not have Ingrid credentials yet, or your sign-in is not working, see No credentials / cannot login? Access and permission levels in the Ingrid Merchant Platform can be set per person or per team, so you can give your operations, e-commerce and warehouse people the access each one needs.

If you are integrating Ingrid rather than only configuring it, you also need your Ingrid API (application programming interface) keys. See Your Ingrid API keys.

A new Ingrid interface is rolling out. The Unified Ingrid interface is a new way to run delivery, at a separate address and using the same credentials as the Ingrid Merchant Platform. It is being introduced in stages, so ask your Ingrid contact whether it is available to you. Everything in this help center describes the Ingrid Merchant Platform unless it says otherwise.

What each Ingrid product does

The four Ingrid products below are where most implementations start. For the full range of Ingrid products and what is included in each tier, see Ingrid products and tiers.

The table below shows what each of these four Ingrid products does and which of your systems it connects to:

Product

What it does

Connects to

Promise

The delivery promise in your checkout: the delivery options, carriers, pickup points and delivery promises per shopper and market. There are two ways to add Ingrid Promise to your checkout: the Ingrid Checkout widget through a platform plugin, or the Ingrid headless API, where you build the checkout experience yourself.

Your e-commerce storefront

Engage

Post-purchase tracking: a branded tracking page on your domain, plus email and SMS (text message) updates from dispatch to delivery. Ingrid Engage tracking events can also feed your CX (customer experience) and marketing tools.

Your order data

Transport

Carrier selection, shipment booking and label generation for every order, on rules you control. Ingrid generates the shipping label and decides what goes on it; your system prints the label as it does today.

Your WMS (warehouse management system), OMS (order management system) or ERP (enterprise resource planning) system

Care

Self-service returns and exchanges: shoppers register a return online, choose a drop-off option and get a return label.

Your e-commerce platform, and your OMS, ERP or WMS for returned-item events

Beneath all Ingrid products sits the Ingrid carrier layer. Wherever Ingrid contacts a carrier on your behalf, carrier credentials are involved. See Carrier credentials.

Where to go next after getting started

Where to go next depends on what you need from Ingrid:

  • If you are implementing Ingrid, go to Implementation. It covers the five phases from scoping to go-live, who leads each one, what sets your timeline, and the two things worth settling in your first week: naming your project team and releasing your carrier credentials.

  • If you are already live with Ingrid and looking for a specific setting or feature, go straight to your Ingrid product's section. Those articles are organized by what you are configuring: delivery options, price rules, regions, warehouses, carrier products and return flows.

  • If you need help with your Ingrid account (signing in, permissions, API keys, extracting order data), go to Account and access.

  • If you want the full range of Ingrid products and tiers, see Ingrid products and tiers.

  • If you are a developer building against the Ingrid APIs, start at developer.ingrid.com. This help center explains what to configure and decide; the Ingrid developer documentation covers endpoints, payloads and code.

  • If you want to know which carriers Ingrid supports, the Ingrid carrier library lists every integrated carrier and carrier product.

Still stuck getting started with Ingrid?

If you are still stuck, ask Iris, Ingrid's AI assistant, in the chat on the Ingrid Help Center. If you can't reach Iris, email [email protected]. If you are in an active Ingrid implementation, your implementation consultant is your faster route.
