Overview

Pass display-ready product details (like color and size) on your cart items at checkout, and Ingrid forwards them into the notifications sent to your notification platform (such as Emarsys, Klaviyo, or Voyado). Use them to enrich your post-purchase emails with the product details your customers care about.

display_attributes vs attributes — attributes are used by Ingrid for delivery logic such as filter rules. display_attributes are used only for display in your post-purchase notifications and do not affect delivery. Use display_attributes for anything you want to show in notifications.

How to set it

When you create a checkout session (DeliveryCheckout_CreateSession), add a display_attributes array to each cart item. Each entry has three fields:

  • key — a machine-readable key (for example, color)

  • value — the value to display (for example, Svart)

  • label — a human-readable label (for example, Color)

"display_attributes": [
  { "key": "color", "value": "Svart", "label": "Color" },
  { "key": "size",  "value": "EU 34", "label": "Size" }
]

See the checkout session reference in the API documentation (DeliveryCheckout_CreateSession).

What happens next

The display_attributes you send are passed through into the notification payload for each item, alongside the standard item fields. How they appear to your customers depends on your notification templates in your notification platform.

Voyado exception: Voyado restricts the extra item attributes (extra data) it accepts, so some display_attributes may not be carried into Voyado notifications.
