What it is
The in-store option lets your shoppers choose to collect their order in one of your physical stores at checkout. It appears alongside home delivery and pickup points. It can optionally check stock at each store, so shoppers only see stores that have their items (see fulfillment check).
In-store pickup is a pickup-type custom shipping method — the difference is that it also carries a set of store locations.
Key benefits
Turn your stores into pickup points — offer click & collect without building a custom layer.
Meet shoppers where they are — in-store pickup sits next to your other delivery options.
Optional real-time availability — pair it with fulfillment check so shoppers only see stores that can fulfill their order.
How it works
A shopper reaches checkout with items in the cart.
Ingrid shows your store locations as an in-store pickup option.
If fulfillment check is set up, only stores that have the items appear.
The shopper picks a store and collects the order there.
Setting it up
There are two parts:
Ingrid sets up the in-store shipping method. Because it's a custom shipping method, Ingrid creates it for you. Contact your implementation team or ask Iris, Ingrid's AI assistant, in the chat on the Ingrid Help Center, and say you want an in-store (pickup) method. Iris can hand your request over to the Ingrid team or create a ticket for you. If you can't reach Iris, email [email protected]. See Custom shipping methods.
You manage your store locations yourself through the Ingrid API (below).
Managing your store locations
Once your in-store method exists, you add, update, and remove its store locations through the Ingrid API. Replace {method} with your in-store method ID (for example ics-yourbrand). In-store method IDs always start with ics-. Ask support if you're unsure.
GET https://api.ingrid.com/v1/ombud/methods/{method}/locations
POST https://api.ingrid.com/v1/ombud/methods/{method}/locations
DELETE https://api.ingrid.com/v1/ombud/methods/{method}/locationsGET — list the method's current store locations.
POST — add or update locations (send the full
locationslist).DELETE — remove locations.
Only remove a store that has closed permanently and has no open orders. Orders already placed with a removed store can't be booked. This applies whether you use DELETE or send a POST list without the store. Removing a store and adding it back later doesn't fix those orders.
Use https://api-stage.ingrid.com for staging. Authenticate with your site API key (from the Ingrid Merchant Platform). For the full request and response schema, see the Ombud API reference (Swagger).

FAQ
Can shoppers only see stores that have their items?
Yes, if you set up fulfillment check. Ingrid checks stock at each store and shows only those that can fulfill the order.
Can I turn off click & collect for a specific store?
Only by removing the store (DELETE, or POST the updated list without it), and only if the store has closed permanently. Orders already placed with a removed store can't be booked, so you can't use removal to pause a store temporarily.
Can I manage my own stores?
Yes. You manage your store locations yourself through the API described above. Ingrid only sets up the in-store method itself.
Getting started
Contact your Ingrid implementation team to set up the in-store method, then manage your store locations through the API.
