Price Setups is a configuration tool in Ingrid’s Returns solution that defines all the rules, options, and pricing for returns within a specific scope. Think of each Price Setup as a complete “returns policy package” that answers: Which countries does this apply to? What is the return window? Which carriers can customers use? How much does it cost? Are exchanges available?
Key components:
Preconditions - Filters that determine when this applies (geography, products, order tags)
General settings - Core return policies (currency, return window, refund processing, costs)
Exchange settings - Whether and how exchanges work
Complaint settings - Damaged/incorrect item handling
Shipment options - Available return methods (carrier integrations, manual upload, in-store)
Conditional overrides - Dynamic rules that modify pricing based on order value, item count, or customer loyalty

Use Cases & Configuration Scenarios
Ideal for:
Multi-market retailers needing localised return policies
Businesses managing returns cost strategically across customer segments
Retailers offering tiered customer experiences (VIP vs. standard)
Seasonal promotions requiring temporary policy adjustments
Product-specific policies (hygiene products, high-value items)
Scenario 1: International expansion
Challenge: Expanding from Sweden into Germany and Poland.
Solution: Create three Price Setups - one per market with local carriers, currencies, and pricing:
Sweden: SEK, 30 days, PostNord/Bring, 49 SEK
Germany: EUR, 30 days, DHL/Hermes, 5 EUR
Poland: PLN, 30 days, InPost, 15 PLN
Result: Each market gets appropriate carriers, local currency, and optimised pricing.
Scenario 2: Dynamic pricing to reduce costs
Challenge: Returns are eating into margins. You want to incentivise high-value orders and bulk returns.
Solution: Use conditional overrides:
Base return cost: 49 SEK
If order value ≥ 500 SEK → Free returns
If returning ≥ 3 items → Free returns
If customer has ≥ 5 lifetime orders → Free returns
Result: Single-item returns from low-value orders pay 49 SEK (discourages frequent returns), while high-value orders, bulk returns, and loyal customers get free returns.
Scenario 3: Product category differentiation
Challenge: Swimwear has hygiene concerns requiring stricter return policies than regular clothing.
Solution: Create two Price Setups:
Priority 1 - Swimwear: 14-day window, exchanges only for complaints
Priority 2 - All Other Products: 30-day window, full exchange functionality
Result: Swimwear has appropriate restrictions while other products have customer-friendly policies.
Scenario 4: VIP customer tier
Challenge: Reward best customers with premium return benefits without giving everyone free returns.
Solution: Create two Price Setups using order tags:
Priority 1 - VIP (tagged orders): 60-day window, free returns, unlimited exchanges
Priority 2 - Standard: 30-day window, 49 SEK cost, 1 free exchange
Result: VIP customers (tagged in your e-commerce system) automatically get extended benefits, creating incentive to become VIP.
