Overview
The Ingrid FAQ Widget shows a general, shopper-facing overview of available delivery options (delivery categories). In some setups, a merchant may have delivery categories intended only for special cases — for example, oversized items, white-glove services, or internal/test categories. These categories can be valid in checkout but should not appear as part of the general delivery FAQ.
Ingrid Support can hide specific categories from the FAQ Widget using a configuration setting called ignored_categories.
When to use this
Use this when both of the following apply:
The delivery category should remain available in checkout where applicable.
The category should no longer appear in the FAQ Widget for any country.
What to include in the support request
Since this setting is not available as self-serve in the Merchant Platform, the change is handled by Ingrid Support. To make the process as smooth as possible, include the following in your request:
A short description of the problem — which categories are showing in the FAQ Widget that shouldn't be.
The delivery categories you want to hide — provide category IDs if available, or category names with enough context for Support to identify them.
Confirmation of expected outcome — e.g. "These categories should no longer appear in the FAQ Widget, but should remain available in checkout."
How delivery category IDs look
Delivery categories have stable IDs that look like:

If you're unsure about the IDs, send the category names and context — Ingrid Support can help identify the correct ones.
What Ingrid Support will do
Confirm the category IDs that should be hidden.
Update the FAQ Widget configuration to exclude the specified categories.
Deploy the updated configuration.
Verify that the categories no longer appear in the FAQ Widget.
Alternative approach: category-level flag
Some delivery category configurations include a category-level flag (show_on_faq_widget) that can also control FAQ Widget visibility. However, Ingrid typically recommends using ignored_categories because it:
Controls FAQ Widget presentation without changing core checkout behaviour.
Is easy to apply as a targeted support change.
If you'd prefer to explore the category-level approach, mention this in your support request.
Verification
After the configuration is deployed:
The specified categories do not appear in the FAQ Widget for any country.
All other categories remain visible and unaffected.
